The Oldest Wooden Church in the Lviv Region

Potelych is a village with a population of about 800 people located in the Zholkovsky district of the Lviv region.

Uspenskyi Svyatohorskyi Convent in Zymne

The Uspenskyi Svyatohorskyi Convent is located near the village of Zymne, a few kilometers from the town of Vladimir-Volynsky in the Volyn region.

Palace-Estate of Admiral Chikhachev in Mytky

Mytky is a small village located in the Barskiy district of the Vinnytsia region. The main attraction of the village is the former estate of Nikolai Chikhachev – a picturesque palace built of yellow bricks.
Nikolai Chikhachev (1830-1917), an admiral of the Russian Imperial Navy, acquired this estate in the 1860s. Later, he built a palace for the construction of which materials were imported from England. Around the palace he planted a park (10 hectares) for his daughter Sophia.

Light and Music Fountain on Maidan Nezalezhnosti

Last week, in Kyiv, on Maidan Nezalezhnosti (the main square of the city), a light and music fountain was opened, which had been damaged during the revolution in 2014.
The fountain works every day except Monday, and a light and music show can be seen from 21:00 to 23:00. The height of the highest jet of the main fountain is 35 meters, the small fountains – 15 meters.

Palanok Castle in Mukacheve

The Palanok Castle, also known as Mukacheve Castle, is the main attraction of the town of Mukacheve located in the Zakarpattia region. The castle stands on a 68-meter-high hill of volcanic origin, the total area of the castle is 13,930 square meters.
The exact date of the founding of the castle is unknown. For the first time it was mentioned in documents in the 11th century. The fortifications were built and rebuilt several times. The castle’s buildings that have survived to this day belong to the 14th-17th centuries. Today, there is a historical museum here. Photos by: Igor Salnikov.

Opening of the Children’s Railway in Kharkiv

May 1, in Kharkiv, after the winter break, the Small Southern Railway was opened – a narrow-gauge children’s railroad with a length of 3.6 km located between Gorky Park and Lesopark. Here, children can get basic training in railway activities.
