Walking the streets of ancient Lviv

Lviv architecture reflects a lot of European styles corresponding to different historical epochs. Fortunately the city was not heavily damaged during the wars of the 20th century.

After fires of 1527 and 1556 there were almost no traces of Gothic Lviv, but the following epochs are well presented: Renaissance, baroque, classicism. The historical center of Lviv has a lot of architectural monuments of the 14th-17th centuries.

I am of Ukrainian and Polish heritage. My Mother was from Lvov. She came to Canada when she was 21 and Father came from Warsaw when he was 23. They both have passed away 15 years ago at 91 years of age. I am always curious about their homecountry and may some
day visit. Your pictures of the city and the music was well worth listening to and seeing. Thank you for such an informative glimpse at a beautiful scenic city.

    Sincerely,
    Sylvia from Calgary, AB, Canada.
