Hvizd is a village with a population of about 3,400 people located in the center of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. Here you can see a picturesque wooden monument of the Hutsul school of folk architecture – the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin (1739).

In the late 1960s, the Soviet authorities decided to close the church and turn it into a museum, but the villagers defended the right to use their church for its intended purpose. St. George’s Church located in the city of Drohobych, in the south of Lviv Oblast is a unique monument of Galician wooden architecture of the late 15th – early 16th centuries. It is one of the best preserved monuments of old Ukrainian sacral architecture.

Kamianets-Podilskyi Castle is a picturesque medieval fortification located in the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi in Khmelnytskyi Oblast of Ukraine.

In the past, it was the main part of the defensive system of the town of Kamianets, the capital of Duchy of Podolia in the 14th-15th centuries and the Podolian Voivodeship in the 15th-18th centuries. The castle acquired its current appearance in the middle of the 16th century and was known as the “uttermost bastion of Christianity”.

The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (1581-1584), a picturesque wooden Orthodox church, is one of the architectural attractions of Chortkiv and the oldest church of this town.
