Ukrainian Carpathians is a part of the Carpathian mountain range, located in the west of Ukraine. This region is one of the tourist centers of the country and is beautiful in all seasons.

But the area becomes especially picturesque during the snowy winter when all the landscapes are like illustrations of winter fairy tales. The mystical beauty of the Carpathians

The Carpathian Mountains is the mountain range located in Central Europe. Ukrainian Carpathians are situated in the west of Ukraine mainly in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia and Chernivtsi regions.

Mountainous terrain stretches for about 280 km. Hoverla Mountain (2061 meters) is the highest point of Ukraine. In rainy and foggy weather, this region is particularly dark and mysterious. Photos by Richard Zorge

The Carpathian National Park was founded in 1968. The park is located in Zakarpattia and Ivano-Frankivsk regions of Ukraine, in the Eastern Carpathians.

The total area of the national park is 12,672 hectares: 11,657 hectares are covered by forests, 453 hectares are grassland and 51 ha – various bodies of water. The park consists of three reserves: Goverlyansky, Chernogorsky, and Ugolsky.

Bukovel is a ski resort in Ivano-Frankivsk region, located near Polyanitsa village at an altitude of 850-1370 meters above sea level. The resort is actively developed; most of the existing buildings, roads, and slopes were built in 2005-2011.

The resort has 16 lifts and decent infrastructure (hotels, multi-storey car parks, restaurants). On five mountains there are about 60 km of slopes (blue, red and black). The resort is open from November to May, though the weather conditions sometimes affect this.

Ukrainian Carpathians Mountains are the part of Carpathian mountain range, located mainly in western Ukraine on the territory of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia and Chernovtsy oblasts.

The length of Ukrainian Carpathians from San River to the sources of Suchava River is 280 km, width – 100 km. The total area is more than 24 thousand square km. The absolute height of the mountain range varies from 120-400 m in the foothills up to 1500-2000 m along the main ridge.

Bukovel is a ski resort in Ivano-Frankivsk oblast (about 110 km from Ivano-Frankivsk city). The resort is located near Palyanitsa village at an altitude of 850-1372 meters above sea level. Bukovel resort is actively growing. Most of the buildings, roads and skiing tracks were built in 2005-2011.

The resort has 16 surface lifts (Doppelmayr and Leitner) and well developed infrastructure (hotels, multi-storey parkings, restaurants). Five mountains of the resort (Dovga, Bukovel, Bulchinoha, Babin Pogar, Chernaya Kleva) provide about 60 km of tracks (blue, red and black). All the tracks have snow cannons; several are equipped with fixed lighting.

The museum of Pysanka (Easter egg) in Kolomiya

Pysanka by itself is mostly chicken (goose) egg, painted on a specific technology with wax and natural or aniline dyes. Pysanka quickly blended into the Christian Easter ritual. The pictures on pysankas have the images of crosses, churches, bell towers, signs with Easter greetings.
