Kherson oblast is the developed industrial and agrarian territory in the south of Ukraine. Kherson region borders on Zaporizhia oblast in the east, Crimea in the south (along Sivash and Perekop isthmus), Mykolaiv oblast in the northwest, Dniepropetrovsk oblast in the north.
Kherson region is located in Black Sea lowland in the Steppe zone, along lower Dnepr river. The seaside and frontier position, closeness of Azov and Black Seas and outlet to Dnepr river are the basic features of Kherson oblast of Ukraine economic and geographical location.
