Kirovograd (Ukrainian spelling Kirovohrad) oblast territory is situated in the center of Ukraine, in the Dnepr and Southern Bug rivers confluence, in the southern part of the Dnepr upland.

The marker of geographical center of Ukraine has been established in the Dobrovelychkivka district in Kirovograd region. That is why Kirovograd oblast is a favorable region for development of trade and economic links, as well as beneficial investment cooperation.

Kirovograd oblast was formed in contemporary borders in 1939. Kirovograd region territory makes 4.1% of total territory of Ukraine, population 2.3% of that in Ukraine.

As for Kirovograd oblast community. Urban population makes 61.2% of its total number in Kirovograd oblast, against 68% in Ukraine. There are representatives of above 30 nationalities in Kirovograd oblast: Ukrainians 85.3%, Russians 11.7%, and others.
