Southern Ukraine region has access to Black Sea, mild climate and fertile soils as well as oil and gas deposits in Black Sea and Azov Sea. Therefore Southern Ukraine area is the center of marine transportation, shipbuilding, agriculture, oil and gas extraction.

Oblasts (provinces) of Southern Ukraine and Republic of Crimea also have well developed tourism and travel sectors infrastructure that however still has numerous opportunities for further expansion.
