Donetsk stadium overview
“Donbass Arena” is the first in Ukraine and Eastern Europe stadium, designed and constructed in accordance with UEFA standards for stadiums of “Elite” category. The idea of the stadium had been planned long before FC “Shakhtar” won the UEFA Cup, and Ukraine won the right to host Euro 2012.
The construction of the stadium began in 2006 and was completed in 2009. “Donbass Arena” is located in the central part of Donetsk (Voroshilov district) in the Park of Culture and Rest. Chelyuskintsev Street is located on its western side and Mira Avenue (Prospekt Mira) - on its southern side.
The Palace of Youth, hotel “Shakhtar”, regional sports complex “Olimpiysky”, shopping mall “Bely Lebed” (“White Swan”), business center “Centaurus-Plaza” are located nearby.
Going to Donbass Arena
Bus stop “Kritiy Rinok” (“Marketplace”) is located in the 10-minute walk from the arena. You can get here from different areas of the city by such routes as #13, 14, 16, 46a, 46b, 73b, 77.
Going to “Donbass Arena” from the railway station
Nonresident guests arrived in Donetsk on trains will go to the stadium by tram #1 for 20-25 minutes or mini buses #100 and #46b for 15-20 minutes (“Prospekt Mira” stop).
Also the trolley #2 and bus #2 are going to the stadium (“Shopping complex “Bely Lebed” stop), travel time - 25-30 minutes.
Going to “Donbass Arena” from the airport
You will move on routes #9, 9a, 9b, 73a to Prospekt Mira. It will take about 35-40 minutes if you are going by trolley or bus or 25-30 minutes if going by mini bus. From Prospekt Mira you will have a walk along the avenue to Chelyuskintsev Street (about 15 minutes).

Going to “Donbass Arena” from bus stations
Putilov bus station is connected with Prospekt Mira by direct routes #10, 25, 83 (20 minutes).
If you have arrived to Southern bus station you are also going to Prospekt Mira. You can use any transport going by Universitetskaya Street or Prospect Mira to the stop “Kritiy Rinok (“Marketplace”). It will take about 15-20 minutes.
The fare on public transport:
Tram, trolley, bus - 1 Ukrainian hryvnia (the exchange rate is about 8 UAH for 1 USD). Mini bus - 1,5-2 UAH.

“Donbass Arena” usually opens 2 hours before the match.
- 51,504 - total number of seats for the fans;
- 1,159 seats for the press (424 - for print media, 432 - for other media, 168 - for reviewers, 45 - commentator cabins having three seats in each);
- 196 seats for people with disabilities and their helpers (104 and 92, respectively);
- 830 seats in 45 corporate boxes;
- 180 journalists can be comfortably accommodated in the conference hall of the arena;
- 1,830 - total number of seats in restaurants, bars and cafes of the stadium;
- More than 1,000 parking spaces (including 245 in the underground parking) are provided at the stadium;
- Less than 1 hour is required to completely fill the stadium;
- It takes about 8 minutes to evacuate all the people from the stadium;
- 105 x 68 m is the size of a football field.
