"Seven Wonders of Ukraine" are seven historical-cultural monuments in Ukraine defined by All Ukrainian contest. The campaign was opened in May 2007. Regional organising committees has tendered about one thousand different objects.

The expert council, consisting of hundred Ukrainian culturologists, historians, experts in tourist business, have made up a list first of 100, and then of 21 objects for Internet-voting. The final contest results were announced August 21, 2007. The selection of "Seven Wonders of Ukraine" was performed in respect of Internet-voting and expert council's view point. About 77 thousand people participated in the Internet-voting.

An ancient fortress, first constructions of which date back to 11th-12th century, and the main bastions date back to 16th-17th century. Kamianets-Podilsk defences are a vivid example of the best Eastern European fortifications.

Kiev Pechersk Lavra

One of the first monasteries to appear on Kiev Rus territory. The foundation dates back to 1051, the time of Yaroslav the Wise governing.

National landscape park "Sofiyivska"

This is a park and National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine scientific-research institute, located on the bank of Kamyanka river, in the north of Uman city, Cherkassy oblast. Today it is a resort place. Annually it is visited by 500 thousand people. The land is 179,2 ha wide. "Sofiyivska" is the landscape monument of garden art of 18th - beginning of 19th century.

Saint Sophia Cathedral

The cathedral was erected in 11th century in the center of Kiev city under order of Yaroslav the Wise. It was built in the style of Ukrainian baroque at the turn of 17th-18th century. The Cathedral interior has preserved a great quantity of ancient frescoes and mosaics. St.Sophia's Cathedral became the first Ukrainian architectural monument listed in the UNESCO World Heritage.

Chersonesos of Taurica

The city founded by ancient Greeks on the Heracleus peninsula on the South-West of Crimea. Today it is Khersoness site of the Gagarin region of Sevastopol city. For two thousand years it was a large political, economic and cultural center of Northern Black Sea region.

Great Khortytsia Island

It is the largest island on Dnepr river located in Zaporozhye city area down the Dnepr Hydro Electric Station. It is also unique natural and historical complex. The island stretches from North-West to South-East, 12.5 km long and about 2.5 wide.

The fortress dates back to 10th-13th centuries. It is located in Khotyn city of Ukraine.

Also there were three objects which picked up additional awards.

Livadia Palace - the monument of contemporary history. The palace is located in Livadia village of Yalta oblast, Crimea, which is 3 km away from Yalta city itself. Krasnov Nikolay Petrovich is the architect. In 1835 small Crimean village was renamed into Livadia (in Classical Greek mythology it means - a lawn, a glade) and a gorgeous whitestone palace was built there and landscape park was laid.

In 1861 the palace became summer residence of Russian imperial family and Alexander II. In 1894 Livadia palace saw the death of Alexander III. And in February 1945 it was the place of Yalta Conference with such participants as Cherchil, Ruzvelt and Stalin. Today the territory of the palace is world-famous cardiological sanatorium "Livadia" and one of the best parks of South Crimea - Livadia park (40 ha), established almost 160 years ago.

Additional awards also received Ostrog - the spiritual monument and museum "Pysanka" in Kolomiya - the monument to modern Ukraine.
