Piddubtsi is a village with a population of about 1,000 people located in the Lutsk district of the Volyn region, 16 km east of Lutsk.

Lutsk High Castle also known as Lubart’s Castle is one of the largest, oldest and best-preserved castles in Ukraine, a monument of architecture and history of national importance.

Lubart’s Castle – the Main Attraction of Lutsk

Lutsk castle, also known as Lubart’s castle, is a symbol of Lutsk city, its main sight and pride.
The castle was built by the Lithuanian prince Lubart in the 14th century. He married a local princess and adopted the Orthodox faith. The castle was chosen as the prince’s residence.

Lutsk is one of the oldest cities in Ukraine. The first written mention of the city dates back to 1085. Today Lutsk with population of about 213 thousand inhabitants is the capital of Volyn region.
The city has a lot of architectural sights – churches and monasteries of the 13th-18th centuries, the 14th-century castle and others. The following short video shows some of them as well as other places of interest in Lutsk.
