St. George’s Church located in the city of Drohobych, in the south of Lviv Oblast is a unique monument of Galician wooden architecture of the late 15th – early 16th centuries. It is one of the best preserved monuments of old Ukrainian sacral architecture.

Drohobych is a city with a population of about 100 thousand people, the second most populous and economically developed city in the Lviv region.
A significant part of the current city center was formed in the late 19th – first half of 20th century, in the period of economic growth associated with the oil boom. Photos by: demarcos.

Church of St Yur – the pearl of Ukrainian wooden architecture

The church of St Yur located in Drohobych (Lviv oblast) is considered the pearl of Ukrainian wooden architecture. Today it is a museum located not far away from the center of the city. The photos were captured by Serge Krynytsia.
