Charming architecture of Odessa

This wonderful city standing on Black Sea coast is often called the “Pearl of the South”. Odessa has special architectural style and special ambiance.
Fortunately, most of the marvelous buildings that went up in Odessa during the 18th and 19th centuries were only partially damaged during World War II. That means Odessa retains the charm of yesteryear. Photos by horoshiyblog.

Kamenets Podolskiy is one of the most ancient cities of Ukraine first time mentioned in 1062. Thanks to unique combination of historical, architectural, town-building heritage, the river Smotrich canyon landscapes, the “Old town” of the city is declared a state historical and architectural reserve.

Zhmerinka railway station – the ship sailing to Odessa

Zhmerinka is a town located in Vinnitsa oblast of Ukraine. The town is known from the 18th century. Main attraction of Zhmerinka is the railway station built in 1899-1904.
The building of the station was constructed in the shape of a ship sailing to Odessa probably because it was the first railway line leading to the sea.

Ukrainian highest cable-stayed bridge

Yuzhny (Southern) bridge is a cable-stayed bridge across the Dnieper River in Kiev. It is the highest cable-stayed bridge in Ukraine. The construction began in 1983, automobile traffic on the bridge was opened on December 25, 1990, metro trains traffic – December 30, 1992.
The bridge was considered the most modern bridge of the USSR connecting the center of Kiev with a left-bank areas and Borispol (main international airport of Ukraine). The length of the bridge is 1256 meters, width – 41 meters, height – 133 meters. The photos by Oleg Stelmakh.

The beautiful architecture of Ternopil

Ternopil city is known for its architectural and cultural monuments. Also it is very comfortable for foreign travelers having a lot of exchange points and modern hotels.
One of the major sights is the Church of the Nativity, the amazingly beautiful church, one of the best examples of Podolsk architectural school of the 17th century.

Kharkov went under water due to heavy rains

As a result of heavy rain and hail happened yesterday, July 4, several streets and avenues in the southern part of Kharkov were flooded. Dozens of trees fell into the streets, breaking power lines and paralyzing traffic. The water level reached the license plates of the cars on Moskovsky Prospect – the main transport line of Kharkov.
According to the meteorologist, the amount of precipitation (43 mm) exceeded the norm by six times. In addition, there was a strong wind up to 36 m/sec.
