TAG | Khmelnitsky oblast

Antoniny is an urban village with a population of about 2,200 people located in the Krasyliv district of the Khmelnytskyi region, about 70 km north of Khmelnytskyi. This settlement under the name of Golodki was first mentioned in documents of the second half of the 14th century. Throughout its history, it belonged to different noble families.

In the 1760s, Barbara Urszula Sanguszko, the owner of the village, transferred Golodki for long-term use to Ignacy Malchevsky, the regent of the Crown Chancellery, who was married to her sister Antonina.

Attractions of Podillia

Podillia is a historical and geographical region (Podillia Upland) located in the south-west of Ukraine, above the northern tributaries of the middle Dniester and the upper reaches of the Southern Buh.

The main cities of Podillia are Kamianets-Podilskyi, Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia.

Bozhykivtsi is a village with a population of about 1,000 people located in the Khmelnytskyi region, 66 km southeast of Khmelnytskyi.

In the late 19th – early 20th centuries, the Polish nobleman Zdzislaw Kolonn-Chesnovsky built in Bozhykivtsi a luxurious estate. This is one of the rare cases when an old manor house has been relatively well preserved. Bozhykivtsi on Google Maps. Photos by: Maxim Ritus.

Medzhybizh Fortress is located in the village of Medzhybizh in the upper reaches of the Southern Buh River, 30 km east of Khmelnitsky and 4 km north of the highway E50 (M12).

The following watercolors were included in the fourth album of the artist Zbigniew Szczepanek “Zamki na Kresach”. It shows the 59 most famous fortresses in Kresach (the Polish name of the territory of present Western Ukraine).

About 40% of the objects show the author’s reconstruction, the remaining 60% – show the current state of the monuments. The images of some fortifications were reconstructed for the first time and thus can be considered a kind of unique.
