Of course, Viktor Yanukovych didn’t buy all these cars himself. They are the gifts received while he was President.
Eventually, there were so many gifts, that a special building was constructed for them. Now everybody can attend the former residence of Yanukovych in Mezhigorie (about 30 km north of Kyiv) and admire this collection. Photos by horoshiyblog

In late November, in Ukraine, mass protests against the government’s decision to suspend signing an association agreement with the EU began.
Rallies in the center of Kyiv, called “Euromaidan”, spread to other regions of Ukraine. In January 2014, after the adoption of laws that substantially restricted the rights and freedoms of citizens, confrontation between the opposition and the government became violent.

Fortunately, confrontation of Ukrainian people with police special forces is in history now. Today, the central part of Kyiv is safe.

Inside the residence of former Ukrainian President

Today, the Parliament of Ukraine voted for the ouster of the President Viktor Yanukovych, and appointed new presidential elections on May 25. Yanukovych left Kyiv and protesters occupied his residence located nearby.
Here is a number of photos takes inside the residence abandoned in a hurry. Viktor Yanukovych loved living on a grand scale. For example, here is a nice looking 1 kilo gold medal with his portrait.

Episodes of confrontation in the center of Kyiv

There are several common misconceptions about Maidan and the situation there.
The first one is that almost the entire Kyiv is literally destroyed. This is not true. All the pictures of confrontation that you can see were taken on one relatively small area near the entrance to the Dinamo Stadium, it is government quarter.
Photos are of course apocalyptic, but it is actually not that bad.

Euromaidan is a mass multi-day protest on Independence Square (Maidan Nezalezhnosty) and adjacent streets and squares in the center of Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities.
It began November 21, 2013 in response to the Ukrainian government suspension of preparatory process for the signing of an association agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

The Park of Miniatures in Kyiv

Kyiv is a rather big city with a lot of interesting places. But there is one place where you can see the main attractions of the city together. It is Kyiv Park of Miniatures located near the metro station “Hydro Park.”
The park has about 50 architectural objects of Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine. In the future, there will be more than 120 models of buildings. The park covers an area of 1.8 hectares and is located on the territory of Hydro Park near the restaurant complex “Mlyn” at Brovarsky Avenue, 9V. Photos by muph

Anti-government protests in Kyiv

December 1, in Kyiv, a demonstration of supporters of Ukraine’s signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union was held, which ultimately resulted in the largest in recent history anti-government and anti-presidential protest.
Several hundred thousand people of different ages, social status and political beliefs came to the central part of the Ukrainian capital.
