Golden Autumn on the Sokilskyi Ridge in the Carpathians

The Sokilskyi Ridge is located in the Pokutsko-Bukovina Carpathians (part of the Ukrainian Carpathians), south of Kolomyya, in the Kosovskyi District of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.
The length of the ridge is about 15 km, the maximum height – 940 m. It stretches from the northwest to the southeast between the Ribnitsa and Cheremosh rivers, from Sokolivka to Velykyi Rozhyn. The Sokilskyi Ridge on Google Maps. Photos by: Oleksandr Kotenko.
The ridge features many interesting geological formations that you can admire or climb to take in the surrounding views from the summit. It is an excellent spot for a relaxing outdoor getaway, mountain camping, easy trekking, or rock climbing.
The ridge is not very high—its maximum elevation reaches 940 meters—yet this does not prevent it from being extremely interesting and attractive.
The vegetation on the Sokilskyi Ridge consists primarily of beech and mixed forests, along with valleys filled with fragrant wildflowers. This makes the Sokilskyi cliffs particularly picturesque in autumn, when the trees are cloaked in a colorful array of hues. The climate is quite cool and humid, so be sure to bring a good membrane jacket and a rain cover.
