St. Paraskeva Church in Stara Sil’

Stara Sil’ is an urban village with a population of about 1,130 people located about 96 km south-west of Lviv. A unique phenomenon in Ukrainian history is associated with Stara Sil’ (literally meaning “old salt”) – the extraction of salt in one place during about three thousand years.

There are also some interesting architectural monuments here. One of them is the unique Orthodox wooden Church of St. Paraskeva (1440). Near it, you can see a wooden bell tower of the 17th century. Stara Sil’ on Google Maps. Photos by: Maxim Ritus.
