Swallow’s Nest – medieval knight’s castle in Crimea
1 Comment · Posted by Sergei Rzhevsky in Architecture, Photos, Travel
Swallow’s Nest (“Lastochkino Gnezdo” – Russian spelling) is a monument of architecture and history standing on the top of 40-meter Avrorin cliff (Ai-Todor cape, Gaspra village located near Yalta city).
The building resembles a medieval knight’s castle like the Belem Tower or Miramar Villa near Trieste. Swallow’s Nest has become a kind of emblem of the Southern coast of Crimea.
Neo-Gothic building standing on the edge of the cliff despite its modest size strikes tourists with its beauty. Photos by golema

Thank you so much for all the beautiful pictures you publish….I browse quite often around and find so many treasures, like this castle that could come straight out of a fairy story book!!! Is there any historic data for this castle?
