Restored Independence Square – the heart of Ukrainian revolution

Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) is the central square of Kyiv. In January and February 2014, it was the place of armed clashes between security forces and Euromaidan activists which led to the change of power and the formation of a new Ukrainian government.

And this is how this place looks a few months later. The barricades and tents have been removed and the square looks almost the same as it was before these historical events. Photos by Oleg Stelmakh
