Perhaps the most beautiful abandoned place in the world

All these incredible water colors, crazy salt columns and cosmic landscapes are abandoned fields for collecting salt located in the Crimea!
Back in Soviet times, these fields were used for mining salt for the needs of the chemical industry. The views here are fantastic – unique combination of bright red water and blue-white-black mud. Photos by Sergey Anashkevitch

Syvash Bay also known as the Rotten Sea located on the west coast of the Azov Sea is separating the Crimean peninsula from the mainland.
In summer, due to the shallow water (0.5-1.0 meters), water in the bay warms up making it very smelly. Fortunately, this picture does not convey the smell and we can enjoy the beautiful view. Photo by Sergey Stepanenko

Stunningly beautiful fall on Ai-Petri in Crimea

Ai-Petri is a mountain and a plateau in the Crimean Mountains located in the Yalta region of Crimea. It is the place with a maximum number of foggy days not only in Crimea, but throughout Ukraine (215 days in 1970).
Also, Ai-Petri is the windiest point of Crimea and Ukraine. Especially picturesque these places look during golden fall. These beautiful photos were taken by Sergey Anashkevitch in October 2013.

Zakarpattia (Transcarpathia) region is located on the south-western slopes and foothills of the Eastern Carpathians. Carpathian Mountains cover about 80% of its territory. This region borders with four countries: Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland.

Ukrainian Carpathians – the Land of Winter Fairy Tales

Ukrainian Carpathians is a part of the Carpathian mountain range, located in the west of Ukraine. This region is one of the tourist centers of the country and is beautiful in all seasons.
But the area becomes especially picturesque during the snowy winter when all the landscapes are like illustrations of winter fairy tales.
