Skelivka (until 1945 – Felsztyn) is a village with a population of about 1,000 people located in the Starosamborsk district of the Lviv region, 93 km southwest of Lviv, near the border with Poland.

This village is primarily known for the fact that here was the main character of the famous satirical novel of Jaroslav Hasek – The Good Soldier Schweik. In Skelivke there is a monument to Schweik.

More than 30 years passed since the day of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident and the “temporary evacuation” of the residents of the town of Pripyat located in the immediate vicinity of the station, about 150 km north of Kyiv.

Over the years, the streets of Pripyat turned into a real forest. It will be another 10 to 15 years and the buildings will collapse massively. Kharkiv, the second most populous city in Ukraine with a population of about 1.4 million people, is located in the north-eastern part of the country.

St. Lawrence’s Church in Zhovkva

St. Lawrence’s Church is a monument of architecture and culture located in the town of Zhovkva in the Lviv region, 25 kilometers north of Lviv and 35 kilometers from the Ukrainian-Polish border.

Church of the Ascension in Chortkiv

Chortkiv is a town with a population of about 29,000 people located in the Ternopil region, 75 km south of Ternopil. There are several interesting monuments of architecture in this town.

Attractions of Ukrainian Sivershchyna

Sivershchyna, a historical region named after the Siverians, an East Slavic tribe, is located in northern Ukraine, eastern Belarus and southwestern Russia.

Basilian Fathers Monastery in Zhovkva

The Basilian Fathers Monastery of the Nativity of Christ with the picturesque baroque Church of the Holy Heart of Christ was built on the site of the wooden Basilian church in the town of Zhovkva in 1612.
