The Roman Catholic Church of St. Nicholas in Kiev, which was built in the early 20th century, is used as a house of organ and chamber music from 1980. The building is located at Krasnoarmeyskaya Str., 77.

The church, built in the stylized Gothic forms with high towers and spiers, has slender proportions, and clear compositional structure. Photos by Oleg Stelmakh.

The time-lapse video of Sumy

Sumy is a city and administrative center of Sumy oblast located in the northeastern Ukraine, standing on the Psyol River.

The city received its name after the rivers Suma and Sumka which washed the city from 2 sides. There is a legend that hunters’ bags (“suma” in Russian) were found in the area. This fact is reflected in the city coat-of-arms adopted in 1781.

Vorontsov Palace is located in Alupka (Crimea Republic) at the foot of Mount Ai-Petri. At present the palace houses a museum. Vorontsov Palace has a beautiful park – a monument of landscape architecture.

The palace was built on the new (as compared with classicism) architectural and construction principles. An important architectural feature was the location of the palace, constructed in accordance with the relief of the mountains, so the palace is fit seamlessly into the surrounding landscape. A lot of the houses of Odessa have not only external facade charm, but also unique inner worlds. After one step inside you find yourself in completely different worlds inaccessible to most eyes – the worlds of front doors, stairs, and staircases.

The beauty of Ukrainian girls

Present Ukraine is becoming a more popular tourist destination. The country is rich in interesting places to visit, architectural, and natural monuments.

But a lot of tourists visit Ukraine attracted by the beautiful women living here. For example, Nikolaev is often called the “city of brides”, and now it is the center of the marriage tourism services. The following video “Ukrainian beauty” shows the beauty of Ukrainian girls.

Abandoned opencast brown coal mine Morozovskiy is located near the city of Oleksandriya (Kirovograd oblast). The enterprise is under liquidation, coal mining is not carried out for 5 years, despite the fact that the brown coal reserves are sufficient for at least another 20 years of active mining.

Chernobyl Museum in Kiev

The exhibition of “Chernobyl” museum located in Kiev is about the largest in the history of nuclear power accident – the accident at the fourth unit of Chernobyl nuclear power plant (Pripyat city) happened in April 1986.

The museum has the collection of about 7,000 exhibits – declassified documents, maps, photographs, objects of ethnic culture, personal belongings of people participated in liquidation of the disaster. The museum of Chernobyl was opened on April 26, 1992. It was dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the accident. Photos by lady-sumerki

Yalta Zoo “Skazka” (“Fairy Tale”) is located in a remarkably beautiful and unique place with a magnificent view of Yalta and the Crimean Mountains. This is the first and currently the largest private zoo in the former Soviet Union.

The zoo was opened in 1995, and from that time it was visited by more than 1 million people. Today more than 120 species of animals brought from all over the globe live at the zoo. Most of the animals have their names that are written on the plaques.

The power and beauty of Donetsk

Donetsk is one of the largest city of Ukraine, important railway and highway junction, industrial center of the country. The city will host several matches of coming Euro 2012.

Within Donetsk there are 22 operating coal mines which waste heaps are located close to inhabited districts. In central part of the city there is a large metallurgic plant.

Heavy air pollution in Donetsk is partly compensated by a lot of greenery and flowers. Over a half of the total city territory is occupied by greenery.

“Mlynki” is a horizontal gypsum cave of labyrinth type. It is located in Ternopil oblast (Chortkiv district, Zalissya village) and is one of the most beautiful gypsum caves in Ukraine. The total length of the passages is about 45 km.

The temperature in the cave in summer and winter is always a constant of about 9-12 degrees Celsius. The average depth from the surface is 30-60 meters and 300 meters above sea level.
