The new terminal “D” of “Borispol” airport

In late May, after three and a half years of construction, new terminal “D” of Ukraine’s main airport located in Boryspil was opened.
At the moment, this terminal is the largest in Ukraine. The total area is 107 thousand square meters, and now it can serve up to 15 million passengers a year, or three thousand passengers per hour. Photos by Press Service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine.

Kharkov Tank Repair Plant specializes in the overhaul and modernization of T-64, T-72, and T-80 tanks and tank engines 5TDF, and GTD-1250. The plant also repairs tank sights, laser range finders, and a range of guided weapons.
By the time of the collapse of the Soviet Union the plant repaired about 60 tanks and 55 engines a month. Currently, the plant doesn’t have a lot of work and the area looks a bit abandoned. Photos by Pasha Itkin

The 30th coastal artillery battery in Sevastopol

250-day defense of Sevastopol in 1941-1942 became one of the most heroic pages in the history of the Second World War. Defenders of the Black Sea Fleet’s main base delayed the plans of the German command to capture the Caucasus, seriously affecting the course of the war.
The 30th and 35th coastal artillery batteries played significant role in the defense of Sevastopol. They became the basis of artillery power of the city’s defenders. The 30th Battery was fighting to June 27, 1942.

Metalist – Euro 2012 stadium in Kharkov

The regional sports complex “Metalist” is a multifunctional stadium located in Kharkov. It is the central stadium of the city primarily used for football matches; the venue for home matches of FC “Metalist”.
December 5, 2009 the stadium was opened after renovation. Today the main football arena of Kharkov can accommodate more than 37 thousand people. The infrastructure of the stadium meets all the requirements of UEFA. Photos by Oleg Stelmakh

Spring in the Chernobyl exclusion zone

The exclusion zone of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, in 1986-1987 called 30-kilometer zone, is a forbidden for free access area, contaminated with radionuclides as a result of explosion at Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
Chernobyl zone includes the northern part of Ivankovsky district of Kiev region, where the power plant itself, the towns of Chernobyl and Pripyat are located; north of the Polesie district of Kiev region; as well as the part of Zhitomir region. Nicholas Church – the House of Organ Music in Kiev

The Roman Catholic Church of St. Nicholas in Kiev, which was built in the early 20th century, is used as a house of organ and chamber music from 1980. The building is located at Krasnoarmeyskaya Str., 77.

Vorontsov Palace – architectural pearl of the Crimea

Vorontsov Palace is located in Alupka (Crimea Republic) at the foot of Mount Ai-Petri. At present the palace houses a museum. Vorontsov Palace has a beautiful park – a monument of landscape architecture.
The palace was built on the new (as compared with classicism) architectural and construction principles. An important architectural feature was the location of the palace, constructed in accordance with the relief of the mountains, so the palace is fit seamlessly into the surrounding landscape. Mysterious worlds of staircases of Odessa houses

A lot of the houses of Odessa have not only external facade charm, but also unique inner worlds. After one step inside you find yourself in completely different worlds inaccessible to most eyes – the worlds of front doors, stairs, and staircases.
They really do not look like each other. They are not always clean and pleasant smelling, they are not always easily accessible, but they are always fraught with mystery opening the hidden pages of Odessa life. Photos by Anton Polyakov.

Post-apocalyptic views of abandoned opencast mine

Abandoned opencast brown coal mine Morozovskiy is located near the city of Oleksandriya (Kirovograd oblast). The enterprise is under liquidation, coal mining is not carried out for 5 years, despite the fact that the brown coal reserves are sufficient for at least another 20 years of active mining.

The exhibition of “Chernobyl” museum located in Kiev is about the largest in the history of nuclear power accident – the accident at the fourth unit of Chernobyl nuclear power plant (Pripyat city) happened in April 1986.
The museum has the collection of about 7,000 exhibits – declassified documents, maps, photographs, objects of ethnic culture, personal belongings of people participated in liquidation of the disaster.
