One of the most beautiful caves in the world

The Marble Cave is a cave located in Crimea, on the lower plateau of Chatyr-Dag mountain, a popular tourist site. In 1987, Simferopol speleologists discovered unique huge cave with a complex system of halls and galleries. It was named The Marble Cave. The entrance to the cave is located at 920 meters above sea level.
After detailed research the cave was equipped with concrete paths, handrails, lighting for speleological tours. The Marble Cave was opened to the public in 1989. It has been visited by several hundred thousand visitors since that time.

Kiev (Ukrainian spelling Kyiv) is the capital of Ukraine and the largest city of the country. It is the 6th largest city of Europe after Moscow, London, Saint Petersburg, Berlin and Madrid. Kiev is located along the Dnepr River just below its confluence with the Desna River.
Because of its historical importance as the center of Kievan Rus from the 9th to 12th century the city is still called “The Mother of Russian cities”. The following pictures of night Kiev were taken from the tallest buildings of the city by Oleg Stelmakh.

Opening ceremony of the biggest stadium of EURO-2012

In the very center of Kiev, at the bottom of the Cherepanova Hill, there is the place where one of the biggest clusters of sports facilities in Europe is located. Since 1996 it has the name of National Sports Complex “Olympic”.
After being reconstructed the stadium connects Ukrainian sports history of 80 years with European experience and ultramodern technologies. Among all sports arenas that are being prepared for Euro-2012 Olympic NSC is the largest, the total capacity will be 70,050 spectators’ places (68,055 places for EURO-2012).

Historical and cultural center “The Kievan Rus Park”

“The Kievan Rus Park” project is the historical and cultural center of ancient Rus. The main idea of the project is to recreate the cultural and architectural image of Kiev’s Detinets-Kremlin of the 5th-13th centuries in original size as well as recreation the atmosphere of Kievan Rus epoch.
The Park’s total area is over 50 ha. The park should become one of the main Ukrainian tourist centers.

Podgoretsky Castle – fortified Renaissance palace

Podgoretsky Castle is a well-preserved Renaissance palace surrounded by fortifications. The castle is located in the east of Lviv oblast in Podgortsy village. Together with Olesky and Zolochevsky castles it forms the “Golden Horseshoe of Ukraine” (tourist route of Lviv region castles).
The castle is a square from the east, south and west surrounded by lines of fortifications. At the site of today’s castle there were more ancient fortifications mentioned in 1530. Present Podgoretsky castle was built during 1635-1640.

Charming architecture of Odessa

This wonderful city standing on Black Sea coast is often called the “Pearl of the South”. Odessa has special architectural style and special ambiance.
Fortunately, most of the marvelous buildings that went up in Odessa during the 18th and 19th centuries were only partially damaged during World War II. That means Odessa retains the charm of yesteryear. Photos by horoshiyblog.

Massandra Palace – architectural monument of the 19th century

Massandra Palace is one of the most interesting monuments of 19th century architecture located near Yalta city of Crimea Republic.
The palace was built in the style of French chateaux of the Renaissance. The elements of different styles (Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque, Rococo, Classicism) were used in the interior decoration. Photos by holy-mozart.

Abandoned military hospital in Balaklava, Crimea

Balaklava is a town on the southwestern coast of the Crimean peninsula. Administratively it is a part of Sevastopol city but in fact Balaklava is separated from the rest of Sevastopol by a few kilometers of undeveloped area.
Today Balaklava is a popular Crimean resort. Tourists are attracted by the town with long history and numerous monuments, spectacular cliffs and beaches.
