The public garden “Strelka”, located at the confluence of the Kharkiv and Lopan rivers in Kharkiv, got a new sight – original floating flower beds resembling the patterns of children’s mosaic.

The resort city of Berdyansk in early summer

Berdyansk, a city with a population of about 114 thousand people in the Zaporozhye region, is a marine, climatic and mud resort of national importance.

It is located on the eastern shore of the Berdyansk Bay in the northern part of the Azov Sea. The water in this part of the Azov Sea remains warm until late autumn. There are no sharp temperature swings, as in the Black Sea. Photos by: Alexey Novik.

​Kyiv Sea – the view from above

The Kyiv Reservoir (also known as the Kyiv Sea) is a large reservoir on the Dnieper River located north of Kyiv, near the town of Vyshhorod.

The area of the reservoir is 922 square km., the water volume – 3.73 cubic km., the largest width – 12 km, the greatest depth – 15 m near the dam, the average depth – about 4 m.

On the left you can see Vyshhorod, in the center – the dam of Kiev Hydroelectric Station.

Komarno is a small town with a population of about 7 thousand people located in the south-western part of the Lviv region, 45 km from Lviv.

The bell tower of Saint Sophia’s Cathedral in Kyiv is an architectural monument built in the style of the Ukrainian Baroque. It is one of the symbols of Kyiv and Ukraine.

This building was constructed on the means of Hetman Ivan Mazepa in 1699-1706. The component part of the National Reserve “Sophia of Kyiv”, the bell tower with a height of 76 meters is the vertical dominant of the Old Kyiv. Photos by: Alexey Novik.

Potelych is a village with a population of about 800 people located in the Zholkovsky district of the Lviv region.

The Uspenskyi Svyatohorskyi Convent is located near the village of Zymne, a few kilometers from the town of Vladimir-Volynsky in the Volyn region.

Mytky is a small village located in the Barskiy district of the Vinnytsia region. The main attraction of the village is the former estate of Nikolai Chikhachev – a picturesque palace built of yellow bricks.

Nikolai Chikhachev (1830-1917), an admiral of the Russian Imperial Navy, acquired this estate in the 1860s. Later, he built a palace for the construction of which materials were imported from England. Around the palace he planted a park (10 hectares) for his daughter Sophia.
