The Ukrainian Carpathians never cease to amaze us with a variety of landscapes. Just look at this beauty – a frosty morning in dairy colors and a beautiful sunset in the colors of caramel.

These photos were taken by Aleksandr Naumenko in the area of Mount Dzembronya located within the Carpathian National Nature Park, on the border of Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia regions.

Gorgany Mountains in all its glory

Gorgany is a mountain range located in Outer Eastern Carpathians – the least accessible and least populated part of the Ukrainian Carpathians (Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia regions).

The name of the mountain range comes from the name of rock slides called “gorgan”. This area is a popular tourist destination. Photo by Yuriy Shevchenko

Misty rural landscapes of the Carpathians

Lazeshchyna is a picturesque village with a population of about four thousand people located in Rakhiv district of Zakarpattia region. In the valley, the river with the same name flows creating amazing mists between rural hills.

This is the perfect place to take pictures – haystacks, lonely houses on the hills, paths in the lush grass, mists and views of the highest peaks of the Carpathians – the mountains Hoverla and Petros. Photos by Alexander Kotenko
