Aircraft Cemetery in Poltava, Ukraine

Poltava Aircraft Cemetery is a former tactical military airfield located about 8 km northwest of the city of Poltava. It is one of two landing strips close to Poltava, the other being Poltava Airport.

The landing strip was once used to prepare Soviet pilots. Previously, this territory was the Pokryshkin Flight Training Center. It was one of the best flight schools, which trained combat pilots for three air regiments based in Zaporozhye.

Let’s dive into the image

Your task is to learn how to make hints and half hints with the help of well-chosen details. Indeed, as practice shows, it is not direct “quotes” that look much more spectacular, but allusions. And the main characteristic features of the Soviet design past today have become obvious (even international) trends.

Advice: Use the obvious references to the Soviet era – do it carefully and dosed. Otherwise, your story will completely turn into decorative kitsch. Which is good for a stylized restaurant, but not quite suitable for a residential setting.

Mid April in the center of Chernihiv

Chernihiv is a city located about 140 km from Kyiv in the north of Ukraine, the administrative center of Chernihiv Oblast, the northernmost regional center of Ukraine.

The history of this city is more than 1,300 years old. In the past, it was the center of the Chernigov Principality – one of the largest and most powerful state formations in Rus in the 11th-13th centuries. Nehrovets is a village of about 2 thousand people located in the central part of Zakarpattia Oblast in the very west of Ukraine. The village is dominated by Mount Nehrovets (1,707 m), one of the highest mountains in the Ukrainian Carpathians.

Sadhora Synagogue in Chernivtsi

The Sadhora synagogue, the main Jewish prayer house, served as a place of public worship and the center of the religious life of the Jewish community in the town of Sadhora. Today, it is part of the city of Chernivtsi (Yaroslava Mudroho Street, 192).

Church of St. Elijah in Toporivtsi

Toporivtsi is a large village of about 4,400 people located 20 km north-east of Chernivtsi, in the central part of Chernivtsi Oblast in western Ukraine.

One of the attractions of this place is the new Church of St. Elijah (1911-1914) resembling a fairytale palace or castle. Velykyi Klyuchiv is a large village with a population of several thousand people located in the southeast of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. This is one of the oldest Ukrainian villages, first mentioned in 1373.
