Ukrainian Carpathians is a part of the Carpathian mountain range, located in the west of Ukraine. This region is one of the tourist centers of the country and is beautiful in all seasons.

But the area becomes especially picturesque during the snowy winter when all the landscapes are like illustrations of winter fairy tales. Karadag Nature Reserve – the Sea Trip

Kara Dag is a volcanic mountain range located in the south-eastern Crimea, on the Black Sea coast. “Kara Dag” is translated from Turkish and Crimean Tatar language as “black mountain”.

Karadag Nature Reserve which includes the territory of the mountain range and the surrounding marine area was created in 1979.

Belaya Skala – a Natural Monument in Crimea

Belaya Skala (“White Rock”) or Aq Qaya is a rock in Crimea, located near the village of Belaya Skala. Vertical white rocky wall dominates the valley of the Biyuk-Karasu River. Elevation between the valley and the top of the cliff is 100 meters.

It was formed by erosion and weathering of limestone and sandstone. From 1981, this rock is a natural monument of republican importance.

The mystical beauty of the Carpathians

The Carpathian Mountains is the mountain range located in Central Europe. Ukrainian Carpathians are situated in the west of Ukraine mainly in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia and Chernivtsi regions.

Mountainous terrain stretches for about 280 km. Hoverla Mountain (2061 meters) is the highest point of Ukraine. In rainy and foggy weather, this region is particularly dark and mysterious. Photos by Richard Zorge

These huge stylized birds representing all regions of Ukraine were demonstrated on the parade in embroidered shirts in Kyiv on August 24 (Independence Day of Ukraine).

“Ordzhonikidze GOK” (mining and processing plant) located in Dnepropetrovsk region is Ukraine’s largest producer of manganese ore developed only open way. The plant produces about 70% of manganese ore in the country.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, a lot of quarries were closed and abandoned. That’s why, nowadays, we can see the following picturesque post-apocalyptic scenery.

Regional Landscape Park “The Generals’ Beaches” is also called “The Coast of 1000 Bays.” In Crimea, along the coast of the Azov Sea, from Zolotoy to Kurortny villages, you can find wild and rarely visited recreation area.

From 1947 to 1972, the Karalarsky steppe was used as military training ground for air support of testing of nuclear and thermonuclear weapons of the Soviet Air Force.

The Carpathian National Park was founded in 1968. The park is located in Zakarpattia and Ivano-Frankivsk regions of Ukraine, in the Eastern Carpathians.

The total area of the national park is 12,672 hectares: 11,657 hectares are covered by forests, 453 hectares are grassland and 51 ha – various bodies of water. The park consists of three reserves: Goverlyansky, Chernogorsky, and Ugolsky.

Spring in the Carpathian Mountains

Carpathians is a mountain system located in Central Europe, on the territory of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Serbia and partly in Austria. In Ukraine, the Carpathian Mountains cover about 80% of the Zakarpattia region.

This is the only region of Ukraine, which borders with Slovakia and Hungary. Resort resources of the region are mainly mineral water and climate. Zakarpattia region is an important area of tourism in Ukraine. This region is beautiful in all seasons. Photos by sav-in
