In the Carpathians the haymaking period usually begins in June and ends in September. At this time of the year, almost every picture taken here has amazing color transitions – from bright green to burning-orange.

Khotyn Fortress – one of the Seven Wonders of Ukraine

Khotyn fortress stands on the bank of the Dniester River in Khotyn town (Chernivtsi region), about 20 km from Kamenets Podolskiy.
Khotyn is one of the oldest Ukrainian towns emerged at the turn of the 10th-11th centuries. In the second half of the 13th century, by order of King Daniel Galitsky, a new stone fortress was built in place of the old wooden one; it became one of the strongest fortresses in Eastern Europe. The Assumption Cathedral in Bila Krynytsya village

Bila Krynytsya is a small village (170 people) located in Chernivtsi region, 12 km south of Chernivtsi city, near the border with Romania.
This village was the center of the Old Believers in Bukovina. The Cathedral of the Assumption of the Old Believers, built in 1900-1908 by the means of Moscow merchant Gleb Ovsyannikov in honor of his son Alexander, is the main attraction of this place.

Ukrainian Carpathians Mountains are the part of Carpathian mountain range, located mainly in western Ukraine on the territory of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia and Chernovtsy oblasts.
The length of Ukrainian Carpathians from San River to the sources of Suchava River is 280 km, width – 100 km. The total area is more than 24 thousand square km. The absolute height of the mountain range varies from 120-400 m in the foothills up to 1500-2000 m along the main ridge.

Khotyn is a small town located in Chernovtsy oblast. It is one of the oldest cities in Ukraine known from the year of 1002. One of the main attractions of Khotyn attracting tourists from all over the world is the magnificent ancient fortress.
